Rivers Programme

This programme, developed within the framework of SCENES, stems from an Iberian project of the same name, which in Portugal is coordinated by the Portuguese Association for Environmental Education (ASPEA) and encourages the adoption of 500-metre stretches of rivers or streams by organised local groups.

It’s an opportunity to explore the wildlife that resides in a river through the observation of its characteristics and ecosystem. The programme also highlights how, due to human intervention, those characteristics can change.

Educational Trails of the Programme:

  • Knowledge Seeking,
